November 14th is World Diabetes Day .
World Diabetes Day was created in 1991 by IDF (International Diabetes Federation) and the World Health Organization in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes. It is marked every year on 14 November, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin along with Charles Best in 1922.
Diabetes is one of the most frequent cause of Chronic Kidney Disease. A high level of blood sugar can lead to many health problems in the body, including heart, kidneys, eyes, and brain.
According to statistics, every 1 in 10 people around the globe has diabetes. While most people with early kidney damage do not have symptoms. The best way to find early kidney damage is to have a urine test once a year.
WEGO is working on helping patients fight against CKD and provide high quality dialysis products and solutions to the hospitals.
